Improving Quality of Life for Horses & Bullocks in India
The team at Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA) provided veterinary care for 101 working bullocks and horses last month. Thanks to your generous support, they also distributed essential first-aid kits and educated owners on animal care and welfare.

From Trauma to Peace: Transforming the Lives of Rescued Donkeys
At Starting Over’s sanctuary in Israel, donkeys are given a second chance at life. Most have been rescued from abuse, neglect and trauma.
Your wonderful support means these beautiful donkeys receive proper veterinary care, nutritious feed, plenty of TLC, and the opportunity to heal in a peaceful environment.
Currently, your compassionate donations are supporting 52 donkeys at the sanctuary.
Providing Urgent Veterinary Care for Working Equines in India
Friendicoes are one of our incredible partner groups in India. Your heartfelt donations help to fund their mobile veterinary clinic, which provides essential care for working equines in need.
During November, they treated an astonishing 835 animals.
A Special Visit from an Equine Vet + New Equipment Improves Donkeys’ Welfare
Our fantastic partner group, the Lake Zone Animal Welfare Organization (LAZAWO), are continuing to alleviate the suffering of working donkeys in the gold mining regions of Geita, Tanzania.
During November, they had a special visit from a UK-based equine vet, Dr Neil. He delivered essential dental and ophthalmological equipment, and provided additional veterinary training for the LAZAWO team.

Dedicated Vet Team are Changing the Lives of Animals in Afghanistan
During November, Nowzad’s dedicated veterinary team provided essential care for 145 working equines. This included preventative care such as deworming and vaccinations. In addition, they assisted 27 other animals including cows, calves and goats.

Friendicoes Gurgaon Sanctuary Sponsorship Report 2025
The Friendicoes Gurgaon Sanctuary is a country sanctuary about 54km from the city centre of Delhi. Spread over 10.5 acres of land, the sanctuary is home to almost 1000 animals.
In 2025, the sanctuary provided care to many horses and donkeys with much appreciated help from Animal Aid Abroad and its supporters.

Horses of Gili Sponsorship Report 2025
Horses of Gili is a a non-profit sanctuary and veterinary clinic on the Gili Islands, dedicated to providing essential care for horses in need.
They are caring for Chocolate, a 8-10 year old stallion who came to the sanctuary in early June 2025.
Creating a More Humane Zambia, One Donkey at a Time
Thanks to your stellar support, the Zambezi Working Donkey Project (ZWDP) are gradually creating a Zambia where donkeys are treated with compassion and valued by the people who rely on them.
Last month, the ZWDP team exceeded their monthly target by over 80%, treating 266 donkeys in total.
