During November, they treated an astonishing 835 animals.

Colic
This is a common condition in working equines.
Indicated when animals frequently lie down and get up again.
May include impaction and severe bloating.
The team administer pain killers and fluid therapy.
Symptoms are usually relived with treatment.
Road accident
An accident with a vehicle led to lacerated wound on the horse’s hind leg.
Severe bleeding.
The wound was cleaned with antiseptics.
Antibiotics, pain killer and a tetanus vaccine were given.
Lacerated wound on knee joint
Road accident that caused a lacerated wound on the knee joint.
The wound was cleaned with antiseptics and sutured.
Antibiotics, pain killer and tetanus vaccine were give.
Lacerated wound on pastern
A sharp iron object injured this horse’s pastern.
The wound was cleaned with antiseptics and dressed.
Antibiotics, tetanus vaccine and pain killers were administered.
Lacerated wound on fetlock
Nails on left leg injured the right fetlock joint while moving.
Wound cleaned with antiseptics and dressed.
Antibiotics, pain killers and tetanus vaccine were given.
Penetrating wound on muzzle
Sharp nail injury to muzzle.
Penetrating, deep wound.
The wound was cleaned with antiseptics and dressed with gauze.
Antibiotics, pain killer and a tetanus vaccine were administered.
Rescues
Pony
The team rescued a pony from Sonia Vihar, Delhi.
The pony was elderly and has a damaged left eye.
Mare
A mare was rescued from Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
Following a road accident.
She was rescued and brought to the sanctuary.
Paravets
During November, Friendicoes’ five hardworking paravets provided follow-up treatment and care for 424 equines.
