Swift Response Protects Donkeys from Tetanus Outbreak
A critical part of Lake Zone Animal Welfare Organization’s (LAZAWO) programs for donkeys working in Tanzania’s gold mines is providing tetanus vaccinations. This program is only made possible due to your heartfelt donations.
Bringing Hope to Donkeys in Tanzanian Gold Mines
In Tanzanian gold mines, donkeys face harsh conditions, brutal workdays and serious injuries. Thankfully, with help from your kind donations, Lake Zone Animal Welfare Organization (LAZAWO) have been able to relieve the suffering of these donkeys and turn pain into hope.

Nowzad a Lifeline for Animals in Distress
Nowzad’s dedicated Working Animal Team in Kabul treated 84 equines for a wide range of ailments during July. They also assisted 29 other animals in need, including cows and goats.
They saw multiple cases of colic, diarrhoea and malnutrition / anorexia, plus respiratory issues, limping, wounds, parasites, hypocalcaemia and an eye tumour.
Working Towards a Zambia Where Donkeys are Free from Suffering
With your wonderful support, the Zambezi Working Donkey Project (ZWDP) are continuing in their mission to work towards a Zambia where donkeys are free from suffering, treated with compassion and valued by the people who rely on them. With help from your generous donations, they predict they can make great strides towards achieving this vision in the second half of 2025.
Training the Next Generation of Equine Vets in Nepal
Thanks to your generous and heartfelt donations, AAA are continuing to support Animal Nepal’s beautiful sanctuary in Dukuchhap. Last month, they welcomed 40 veterinary students who were all eager to learn about equine medicine and welfare.

Rescued Donkeys Find Comfort and Safety in Indian Sanctuaries
Thanks to your ongoing support, our partner group in India, Animal Aid Unlimited (AAU), are able to continue caring for rescued donkeys in two peaceful sanctuaries.
They currently have 15 donkeys living at their primary sanctuary and 10 donkeys living at their Animal Birth Control (ABC) centre.
Vet Care + Education Improves the Welfare of Horses and Oxen
Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA) in India are a lifeline for sick horses and oxen. During June, they assisted 93 working animals through their mobile clinic.
The vet team treated a variety of conditions, including fevers, coughs, wounds, infections, diarrhoea, skin complaints, parasites and malnutrition, amongst others. APOWA’s efforts significantly improved the animals' overall health and quality of life.
