Rescued Donkeys Find Comfort and Safety in Indian Sanctuaries

Thanks to your ongoing support, our partner group in India, Animal Aid Unlimited (AAU), are able to continue caring for rescued donkeys in two peaceful sanctuaries.

They currently have 15 donkeys living at their primary sanctuary and 10 donkeys living at their Animal Birth Control (ABC) centre.

Vet Care + Education Improves the Welfare of Horses and Oxen

Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA) in India are a lifeline for sick horses and oxen. During June, they assisted 93 working animals through their mobile clinic.

The vet team treated a variety of conditions, including fevers, coughs, wounds, infections, diarrhoea, skin complaints, parasites and malnutrition, amongst others. APOWA’s efforts significantly improved the animals' overall health and quality of life.

Mules Find Relief from Pain and Suffering

With assistance from your kind donations, Friendicoes have been continuing their treatment camp for mules in Kedarnath, India. A dedicated team was stationed there to treat injured animals and respond to all emergency cases.

Friendicoes also ran a workshop to educate animal owners about hoof care and basic health management for their mules.

Reaching More Working Donkeys in Zambia

The Zambezi Working Donkey Project (ZWDP) – our partner group in Zambia – have a vision: a world where working animals are treated with respect and compassion, living free from suffering. With your generous and heartfelt support, they are getting closer to their vision for donkeys in Zambia.

Over the past six months, the ZWDP team has assisted 1,421 donkeys, which is a 69% increase from last year.

Donkey Welfare in Malawi Improving with Vet Care and Education

One of our African partner groups, the Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA), treated 227 working donkeys in the past month. They also focused on educating owners to improve animal welfare, and preventing wounds caused by improper harnessing.
