Blind Love Sanctuary Sponsorship Report 2025
The Blind Love sanctuary and team in Zaire, South Africa provides a home for horses in need and assists animals in nearby communities through education and veterinary services.
In 2025, a couple of the Blind Love horses required ongoing veterinary care, however with careful attention both have recovered fully.
Nowzad Afghanistan Donkey Sanctuary Sponsorship Report 2025
Nowzad is committed to rescuing abandoned donkeys and training members of the community in better equine care in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
2025 has been an eventful year, including the huge challenge of relocating the entire sanctuary!
Saving Donkeys from Starvation in a Time of Drought
Due to your compassion for working animals, your support helped to fund an essential feeding program in Mgusu, Tanzania. This area was severely affected by a drought that left many working donkeys vulnerable to malnutrition or starvation.
Read on to see how our partner group, Lakezone Animal Welfare Organization (LAZAWO), worked tirelessly to assist over 800 donkeys affected by the drought.
Alleviating the Suffering of India’s Working Equines
Our hard-working partner group in India, Friendicoes, treated an incredible 710 equines through their mobile vet clinic in October.
With support from your generous donations, the team also rescued an abandoned pony and mule recently, taking them to their sanctuary where they can now live in peace and safety.
Providing Critical Care for Vulnerable Animals in Afghanistan
In Afghanistan, our partner group Nowzad undertook no less than 23 mobile vet clinics during October. This amazing effort resulted in 145 working equines receiving essential veterinary care, including deworming and vaccinations.
They also provided critical care for other animals in need, including cows, calves and goats.

Improving Donkey Welfare in Malawi through Humane Equipment & Education
Our partner group in Malawi, the Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (LSPCA), are dedicated to providing essential veterinary care for working donkeys. They also focus on owner education and repairing harnesses and carts, since these have a significant impact on donkey welfare.

Celebrating Kindness: A Festival in Nepal that Acknowledges & Respects All Animals
With help from your wonderful donations, Animal Nepal are continuing to provide excellent care, affection, safety and compassion for the special rescued animals at their sanctuary in Dukuchhap.
During October, they provided dedicated care for their horse, Shakti, who now has kidney disease but is responding well to her treatment. The team also celebrated Tihar - a unique festival that honours the deep bonds between humans and animals.
Giving Donkeys and Horses in South Africa the Care they Deserve
During September, Blind Love in South Africa treated 57 donkeys and 33 horses at their veterinary outreach days.
In addition, they used your generous donations to buy some much-needed feed for hungry cart horses.
