India ~Animal Aid Unlimited Quarterly report
We currently have a total of 17 male donkeys and 9 females and 1 male at our Animal Birth Control site (ABC centre). All are healthy and doing well.
New donkey admissions and ongoing care in our hospital:
LE057: We rescued a donkey on 08/06/2026 for plastic-rope wounds on his legs (shared in the previous quarter report). By July 7, the wound had fully healed. He is currently in our care.
LD878: On 19/03/2026, the owner of a donkey brought him to Animal Aid with a history of having fought with another donkey. He had a severe infection on his leg that needed urgent antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and bandaging. He is currently still under treatment. On 17/06/2026, we performed his sterilisation. On 23 September, he was released.
LE255: Admitted to Animal Aid on August 14 with a large laceration wound on his hind leg. The owner of the donkey came to Animal Aid and explained that another donkey had bitten him and they requested us to return him once he was recovered. On 28 September, we returned him, and our Street Treatment team has followed up several times to check the leg and ensure he is being cared for.
LE344: Admitted on 10 September with a maggot wound on spine. He is being treated in our hospital currently and healing well.
LE352: Admitted on 15 September 2026 with a wound on his leg from a rope cutting into the flesh with maggots inside. He is currently in our hospital under treatment and slowly recovering. The wounds were very deep.
LE121: Admitted on 02 July 2026 with a large laceration wound on his flank. He is currently in our care and has healed very well.
LE145: A female donkey was rescued on 11 July 2026 from outside Udaipur (Nathdwara) with an old fractured leg that was badly malformed and had a wound where the deformed leg touched the ground. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl on 01 August 2026. Both are doing well and are in our care. The mother receives daily bandaging to prevent injury from rubbing against the ground.
We are tremendously grateful to the Animal Aid Abroad for the vital support to our mission, and we look forward to continuing saving working animals together in the coming years.
