Celebrating 20 years

Maximising every donation dollar

From the very beginning, when I first started Animal Aid Abroad in 2007, I was determined that Animal Aid Abroad should operate differently.

We are 100% volunteer-run, with no paid salaries. We work hard to keep our administration and operating costs extremely low so that we can put as much of every donation as possible exactly where it belongs- into our animal projects.

We are immensely proud of our commitment to maximising your donation dollar and minimising the costs that can otherwise absorb funds intended for animals.

It is a principle I have held firmly to since founding Animal Aid Abroad 20 years ago, and it remains just as important to me today.

And our work continues to grow

As we approach this milestone, I am also delighted to announce two exciting new partnerships.

In October, we will begin a new partnership with JAAN (Jakarta Animal Aid Network) to help carriage horses in Jakarta.

Then, from January 2027, we will commence an exciting new working animal welfare program with Animals Fiji, extending our work to help animals in Fiji.

These new partnerships are an important part of our next chapter, and there is much more to come.

We will be announcing more special 20th Anniversary events and initiatives throughout the coming months, so please stay tuned. We want 2027 to be a year of celebration, reflection and, most importantly, continued action to make a real difference to animals who need us.

A very special announcement for our supporters in the USA

I am also extremely happy to announce that donations to Animal Aid Abroad from supporters in the United States are now tax deductible, through our US charitable arrangements (EIN 42-4671999).

This is a very exciting development for Animal Aid Abroad and will open up new opportunities for our wonderful supporters in the USA to help working animals around the world.

I will share much more about this in our next newsletter.

For now, though, I hope you will join me in celebrating this incredible milestone.

And we are not stopping.

There are still so many working animals who need our help, and I am incredibly excited about what we can achieve together over the next 20 years.
