Bringing Care and Compassion to India’s Working Camels

Animal Aid Abroad, together with our partner Camel Rescue Centre (CRC) in Bassi, India, is transforming the lives of working camels through essential veterinary care and compassion. In March alone, the CRC team treated 379 camels and an additional 378 animals including horses, goats, dogs, cows, and sheep — proving that your support reaches far beyond one species to uplift entire communities of working animals.

Mobile Veterinary Care in Action

CRC’s mobile teams travel to remote villages where working camels endure harsh conditions. In Langariawas, they treated a camel suffering from severe mange, providing anti‑mange medication and educating the owner on hygiene and proper care. In Vijaypura, another camel was treated for diarrhoea, with supportive therapy to prevent dehydration and guidance on feeding and clean water. These interventions not only save lives but also build knowledge among owners, ensuring long‑term welfare improvements.

Community Clinics and Annual Camps

Beyond individual cases, CRC’s daily clinics and monthly camps treated hundreds of animals for routine needs such as deworming, vaccination, and wound care. Two annual camps in Nagaur and Jaisalmer brought relief to large numbers of working camels, reinforcing AAA’s mission to deliver care where it is most needed.

Global Impact Made Possible by You

Every treatment, rescue, and outreach effort is powered by your generosity. By funding veterinary supplies, mobile clinics, and welfare education, you are helping CRC and AAA bring relief, dignity, and compassion to working camels and other animals across India.

Together, we are turning burden into care — and proving that local partnerships are the key to global change.
