Bringing Relief to Camels in India’s Brick Kilns: Local Care, Global Impact
Animal Aid Abroad, together with our local partner Camel Rescue Centre (CRC), is delivering essential veterinary care to camels working in India’s brick kilns.
In February, the CRC team reached Vijaipura to provide treatments and compassion to animals who rarely have access to veterinary support. Thanks to your ongoing generosity, hundreds of camels and other working animals received relief and dignity.
Case One
During a visit to Vijaipura, the CRC team met Pappu, a camel owner concerned about his animal’s discomfort. Examination revealed mange. With careful cleaning, treatment, and follow-up visits, the camel’s condition stabilized. Witnessing the recovery brought joy to both Pappu and the CRC team, showing how compassion transforms lives.

Case Two
The team also met Madan, whose only camel was suffering from mouth sores, drooling, and loss of appetite. Diagnosed with stomatitis, the camel received treatment, and Madan was guided on daily care and hygiene to ensure full recovery.

Cases from Daily Clinics & Monthly Camps
Beyond individual rescues, the CRC team treated 376 camels in February, addressing a wide range of conditions. They also extended care to 492 other animals — including horses, goats, cows, sheep, and dogs — providing deworming, vaccinations, and treatment for various ailments.
Buffalo Case
A buffalo suffering from hypothermia was brought to the CRC. The veterinary team provided warming care, supportive treatment, and guidance for the owner to prevent future complications. With timely intervention, the buffalo is expected to make a full recovery.
