Team in India Provides a Lifeline for Camels in Need
Animal Aid Abroad (AAA), together with our partner Camel Rescue Centre (CRC) in India, is transforming the welfare of working camels and other animals through veterinary care, outreach, and compassionate treatment. In April, CRC attended to 285 camels and 261 other animals, including horses, goats, dogs, cows, and sheep — proving that your support is making a global impact.
Case Study: Treating Stomatitis in Heerawala
At the Heerawala treatment site, Sanjay brought his camel suffering from mouth irritation, loss of appetite, and mild fever. CRC diagnosed stomatitis, a common condition caused by heat, digestive issues, or infection. With timely treatment and guidance, the camel recovered, allowing Sanjay to continue his livelihood with relief and gratitude.
Case Study: Managing Colic in Langariyawas
At the Langariyawas site, Pintu’s camel showed signs of severe abdominal pain and distress. CRC quickly diagnosed colic and provided immediate treatment and supportive care. The camel stabilized and recovered, demonstrating the importance of rapid veterinary intervention for working animals.
Case Study: Goat Wound Care
Koshalaya brought her goat with a severe hind limb wound infested by maggots. CRC provided immediate treatment — removing maggots, cleaning the wound, and administering medication. With proper hygiene guidance and follow‑up care, the goat recovered well, bringing relief to her owner.
Daily Clinics and Monthly Camps
Beyond individual cases, CRC treated 285 camels and 261 other animals in April. Services included:
