Rescued Donkeys Enjoy Care, Love and Kindness
With your fantastic support, Animal Aid Unlimited (AAU) are able to provide care for 15 rescued donkeys at their primary sanctuary, along with 10 donkeys at their Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre in Udaipur, India.
Sadly, one donkey living at their primary sanctuary passed away in February. He had been unwell for a while - he had been eating less and seemed low in spirits. The AAU team provided intensive care and love until the end.
Another donkey had a hoof wound, which was treated daily until it healed completely. Hoof trimming is carried out regularly for every rescued donkey.
Happily, all the donkeys living at the ABC Centre are doing well and have no health issues.
The rescued donkeys are fed twice a day with hay, green grass and grains. They enjoy being brushed by volunteers and get along with the other animals in the area. One donkey has bonded with a rescued horse and they like to groom one another.
A donkey who was admitted to AAU’s large animal hospital last year with a fractured leg is still undergoing treatment. He only has very limited use of his leg, so he may end up becoming another permanent sanctuary donkey.
AAU have expressed their gratitude for AAA’s support, which allows them to run their sanctuary smoothly and properly care for the rescued donkeys. We could not do this without your compassionate donations, so thank you!
