Remembering Mollel: Update on Our Appeal

Animal Aid Abroad (AAA) and our partner Lake Zone Animal Welfare Organization (LAZAWO) in Tanzania continue to honor the legacy of Emmanuel Peter Mollel, a dedicated paravet who tragically passed away in April while traveling to treat a wounded donkey. His compassion and commitment to donkey welfare touched countless lives, and thanks to your generosity, his legacy will live on.

Appeal Results: Honoring Mollel’s Legacy

Through your donations, AAA raised $4,828.64, just short of $5,000. These funds will:

  • Cover funeral expenses for Mollel’s family.

  • Contribute significantly to the construction of a new ICU/hospital stable at the Geita Sanctuary, which will be named in his honor.

This stable will provide lifesaving treatment for donkeys suffering from severe injuries and illnesses, ensuring that Mollel’s dedication to animal welfare continues to inspire and protect.

Community Support and Contributions

AAA extends heartfelt thanks to Jen and Tracy at Red Parka, whose generous contribution helped make the hospital stable possible. They are also funding upgrades to secure the main stable against predators at night, further strengthening sanctuary safety.

Looking Ahead

Once the ICU/hospital stable is completed, AAA will share updates in our newsletter and on our website. This project represents not only a tribute to Mollel’s life but also a lasting investment in the welfare of Tanzania’s working donkeys.

Global Impact Made Possible by You

Every donation reflects the compassion and solidarity of our international community. Together, AAA and LAZAWO are turning burden into care and proving that local partnerships are the key to global change — ensuring that Mollel’s legacy continues to protect the animals he loved.
