Treatment Provided for 101 Working Horses and Oxen
Due to your compassionate support, Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA) in India were able to assist many working animals in January.
Their mobile veterinary team reached 101 horses and oxen.

The dedicated HIS vets treated a variety of conditions, including anorexia, wounds, lameness, colic, diarrhoea, corneal opacity, respiratory distress, skin diseases, tumours, reproductive issues, and urinary problems, all caused or worsened by transportation and poor hygiene.

Donkey Welfare Clinic in Masinono Village, Treatment to 257 Donkeys
The LAZAWO team recently conducted a major clinic in Masinono village, providing treatment to 257 donkeys for various conditions, including wounds, trypanosomiasis, tick infestation, eye infections, worm infestations, and colic. Of these, 149 were new cases, while 108 donkeys received follow-up care from previous clinics or weekly para-veterinary visits.

During November 2024, LAZAWO carried out a comprehensive mobile clinic in the small mining communities of Geita. Meet New Sponsored Rescue NoEars
In the northern reaches of Kabul, Afghanistan, where Nowzad has been running its Working Animal Programme since 2022, our vet team was called out to a poor foal in a shocking state. The young horse had tragically lost her ears to a vicious dog attack when she couldn’t get up back up after her tethering rope had wrapped around her legs and she’d fallen over.

Remembering Soni
This past month has been one of reflection and remembrance as the sanctuary said goodbye to the beloved Soni. While her journey has come to an end, her story continues to inspire a steadfast commitment to providing care, compassion and dignity to every animal at the sanctuary.
