A Critical Lifeline for Sick and Injured Working Equines in Egypt

In May, our newest partner group, Animal Care in Egypt (ACE), provided lifesaving treatment to an astonishing 2,060 working equines. Through their clinic and hospital, ACE is alleviating suffering and offering relief and hope for donkeys and horses who are often neglected and left without professional care.

Outpatients Clinic: Thousands Treated

ACE’s outpatient clinic treated:

  • 1,347 donkeys

  • 713 horses

Conditions addressed included:

  • Respiratory infections (900 cases, including strangles).

  • Skin diseases (700 cases).

  • Lameness and farrier treatments (315 cases).

  • Internal issues such as colic, deworming, and dental care (110 cases).

  • Eye conditions (14), fractures (9), surgeries (8), and gynecological problems (4).

Each animal received compassionate, professional treatment tailored to its condition, ensuring relief from pain and improved welfare outcomes.

Inpatient Care: Intensive Support

ACE’s hospital services admitted:

  • 26 donkeys

  • 22 horses

These equines required intensive monitoring, specialized treatment, and rehabilitation, underscoring ACE’s role as a critical lifeline for working animals in Egypt.

With your support, ACE continues to provide veterinary care, rehabilitation, and dignity for thousands of working donkeys and horses. Every treatment delivered reflects AAA’s mission: transforming suffering into care and ensuring that animals exploited through human use receive the compassion they deserve.
