Liberia Animal Welfare and Conservation Society (LAWCS) - September 2023 report

The Liberia Animal Welfare and Conservation Society (LAWCS) in Guinea is one of AAA’s partner groups which benefits from the generosity of our donors and supporters.

They are always a busy group and September was no different with 859 animals treated during outreach clinics. These clinics were held in 16 different villages, and benefitted an estimated 1,209 people who own or rely on working animals for their living.

They also distributed 11 humane harnesses, and provided 7 donkeys with keens/soft back padding to make their work more comfortable and prevent any injury to the animals.

Alongside their direct work with working animals, the group also ran community education sessions. 1,209 people attended their donkey education sessions and 671 people attended humane harnessing programs.

Through veterinary care providing immediate relief and through education aiming to create long-term sustainable change into the future, we can see the benefit that LAWCS is having on the local community and the working animals in it.
