Help in Suffering (HIS) Camel Rescue Centre update November 2022

Help in Suffering (HIS) have sent us an update from their Camel Rescue Centre (CRC) in Bassi for November.

Case-1

One day when we reached one of our sites at Heerawala village, many camels and their owners came to our mobile ambulance to find the solution for their different problems. One of them was owner Anil Kumar, whose camel had been suffering from a prolapse of the rectum for more than a week. He was not worried about this because the prolapse was not persistent. It would come and go.

CRC vet Dr. Jitendar examined it and manually corrected it under local anaesthesia. Required antibiotics and painkillers etc were given. The owner was advised to give the camel a succulent and soft diet. The owner was very happy so he was thankful to our veterinary team and to Help in Suffering.

Case-2

On another day, owner Nathulal from Palawala village came to us. He was in a hurry and wanted to have some antiseptic ointment from us for his camel. We asked him to remove the saddle to examine the wound. After removing the saddle, the wound was cleaned thoroughly with antiseptic solution. Antibiotics and painkillers were administered. He was asked to repair the saddle to avoid future injury to the camel.
