Friendicoes India - October 2021 Report

Friendicoes in India have sent us a report on their Equine Program activities for October 2021.

During this month, they treated equines for health issues including colic, dehydration, shoe issues, fencing wire injuries, leg lacerations, head injuries caused by nails on the halter, babesiosis, as well as the rescue of five retired mounts from the Delhi Police.

The retired mounts included: Kirtiman, 20yrs old; Prince, 19 yrs old; Hans, 20 yrs old; Roopa, 18 yrs old; and Risky, 21 yrs old. They are all enjoying their much-deserved retirement.

Two other rescue cases involved two elderly mares abandoned in a field; it is thought that they were left by a local riding club who did not want to keep old and uneconomic horses. These two horses were in poor condition, starving and dehydrated. They were named Sally and Patience and brought to the sanctuary.
