Help in Suffering (HIS) January 2022 report

Following is the January 2022 Report from India’s Help n Suffering (HIS) Partner Group:

Case-1

In camels, the ear infection is a less common problem which sometimes occurs in camels with the symptoms of pain, irritation, pus discharge etc.

One day the camel owner Santosh Kumar from village Heerawala came to us to show his camel as he found pus discharge from the ear.

After examination of the case the ear was cleaned and appropriate medication was done. The owner was advised to keep the ear clean and to come back next week again.

Case-2

Nose pegs are used to control the camels as a useful tool. Sometimes because of struggle or sudden jerk by camels, maggot wounds or by owners’ negligence it causes big wounds in the nose. Sometimes the nose gets torn and the nose peg comes out.

The same thing happened at village Kanota where the owner Mohanlal came to us for the torn nose of his camel. This was a new camel he bought a few days ago. Dr. Jitendar, our CRC vet decided to suture the wound under sedation. After surgical procedure the owner was advised to keep the wound clean and away from flies. He was also given oral medication and antiseptic ointment for further use.
