Kurdistan Organization of Animal Rights Protection - June activity

Dr Sulaiman and his team from the Kurdistan Organisation of Animal Rights Protection (KOARP) have continued their work during the month of June.

They treated a range of animals including donkeys, horses, dogs, camels, sheep, goats and cattle for a wide range of medical and physical ailments. While out in the field they provided food, medication and for the animal owners, education on the correct care of their animals in terms of not over working, no beating, and provision of ample food, water and shelter.

Many owners in the area are still using traditional methods of castration which can lead to infections and pain, so the message is delivered that this can be done using modern surgical methods with anaesthesia. The team have a plan to carry out these humane castrations over the next two months.
