Two Nepalese dogs in need of sponsorship - can you help?Written by AAA Created Monday, 31 January 2011 Nana - Nana was left for dead on the Ring Road during Nepal's main festival, Dasain. When our ambulance arrived at the spot we at Animal Nepal thought we were too late. Nana suffered from an advanced stage of dehydration and malnutrition and had a deep, untreated wound on the ear part. However, Nana is a survivor, and after being given with immediate first aid, he started wagging his tale. It took a few weeks before Nana was able to move and play. Nowadays Nana is a very active dog, who loves long walks, playing with other dogs and –last but definitely not least- lots of food. Because Nana is an elderly dog he would soon deteriorate without ongoing support. That is why we decided not to release him back on the street. Nana is the first permanent resident at our sanctuary. We wish him a happy retirement!
Hazuur Baje - Hazuur Baje means grandfather in Nepali and this dog certainly is vintage! Hazuur Baje was found not far from our sanctuary, suffering from severe malnutrition, dehydration and gastric problems. After he recovered Baje suffered from parvo but luckily he quickly recovered. Baje is too old to be put back on the street, which is why we decided to provide him with a comfortable retirement. Baje enjoys basking in the sun and being stroked, and –now that he has more energy- going for walks. Hazuur Baje is the second permanent resident in our sanctuary, after Nana. |
