Reinstating our Animal Welfare Inspectorate
Written by AAA
Created Monday, 06 June 2011
In regards to the Animal Welfare Unit, sadly we do not seem to be any closer to getting the unit reinstated. The Premier has basically admitted that he isn't going to fund the unit which is a real blow for our animals in WA.
Can we just remind you:
- We can no longer be assured that west Australian meat is cruelty free
- Livestock animals in WA are not inspected or monitored for their WELFARE
- Industry is not monitored for any animal welfare act breaches, including factory farms live export.
Stop Live Exports [ http://www.stopliveexports.org/help-stop-live-exports/take-action ] have a section on their website where people can take action.
Please you can help us, help our WA animals by voicing your concern for this much needed inspectorate by writing a letter to your local MP asking them to contact Minister Castrilli, write a letter to your local newspapers or/and contact the Minister and Premier directly:
