Live Shipment of cattle resumes to Egypt
Written by AAA
Created Wednesday, 17 March 2010
Sadly in late February sixteen and half thousand [16,500] live cattle left Fremantle Port destined for Egypt where no animal welfare laws exist to protect the treatment and slaughter of these animals.
These animals are destined for a brutal and horrendous death in an Egyptian slaughterhouse and to add to this very poor situation we didn't even have an Animal Welfare Inspectorate team to monitor the loading of these animals in Fremantle port.
Please see the
attached media release from Animals Australia and pictures of the ship - Ocean Shearer anchored off Perth in Gages Road.
Soon to be uploaded will be a list of who to contact so you can voice your concerns about this shocking decision by our government.
